“A revealing close-up in Soap Machine renders the sitcoms of the nineties braindead. This video installation transforms the second floor of the gallery into a light and sound theater. Seven TV-screens are starring at the visitor from all corners of the room and corridor. The same returning characters vomit pieces of texts. A woman with bags under the eyes and pimples from misery and depression smears her unhappy love-life over the screen. The mouths and eyes of the enlarged faces rattle and stare. They shoot wild around with loose shreds of text and overwhelm the spectator with empty one-liners out of soap opera’s.”
